I got it 2,107 rating very fast just because my big Mating Practice and Mating Theory skills!

I study a lot of combinations, attacks, mates. The Book for 1,200 Combination I can handle for 1-2 days, while working on my Post! So, I got even paid $$$ for that!

Fun real story! I show to my partner the Book with 1,234 Mates, and asked him to give me any one to solve, and asked him again how much time I need to do it?  He told, that at least 30 seconds! I reply, that I need 3 seconds!

He gave me a position with Mate on 3 moves, where I find the very rear Mate at 2-3 seconds...

Also, I got and made thousands Mates at 7 months at site!

I enjoy it in both ways... Devote more times to study and real games, where You do not know, what is going on and what gonna happen! You have to make a decisions very fast and deep! It can be a lot of mistakes for you! But if you know thousands patterns, it help a lot!

Good Point! I am working my way through Cheng's book ("Practical Chess Exercises(?)") and I really like it! A nice collection of good puzzles without hints to what to look for. Check it out!
