There's some trouble in "Endings, Openings, a Taste of the Middle". Starting with challenge EOT0037 I start to see (and therefore play) a lot of the same challenges over and over. Can the duplicates be removed?

Also I'm wondering if the comments have been proof-read. I've encountered many wrong comments (Kd8 where only Ke8 could be correct, because the King was already on d8).

Anyway, I think this is the best chess course I've ever made and can't wait to see which new courses will be available every month.

Have fun,

Michael

It would be great if I could at least get a reply from a staff member...

There should not be any duplicate Chess Mentor lessons. If you see two lessons which look the same please let us know so that we can eliminate the duplicates.

That course has numerous duplicates starting with Lesson 37. Just looking at the next 20 lessons (and there are more), Lesson 37 on Basic Opposition is duplicated by Lessons 40, 44, 48, 53, and 55. Lesson 38 on Distant Opposition is duplicated by Lessons 39, 51, and 56. Lesson 41 on Rectangular Opposition is duplicated by Lessons 45, 47, 50, and 57. Lesson 42 on Diagonal Opposition is duplicated by Lessons 43, 49, and 52. This seems to have been caused by the decision to split Variations from the CD version into separate lessons. Opposition is a basic concept everyone has to learn, and Mr. Silman included a review of it in Variations to his subsequent lessons in the course. My guess is that there are as many as 60 duplicate lessons in the course which were originally review variations.

I have discovered similar problems, as noted in my other post. I'm also disappointed to have not had any response from Chess Mentor as of yet.

In addition, the accompanying text regularly makes reference to "see Variation 1" etc, yet these variations are not identified anywhere.

Ok, yes. We are looking into the issue of multiple "Basic Opposition" lessons in the EOT category. Thank you for reporting this.

Also, if you can give the lessons which talk about "variation 1" and "variation 2" it will be helpful to us. Thanks again!

thank you all for reporting this!

if you want to make 100% sure your comments are read, then please use the Report Bugs link at the bottom of every page. while we try to make sure that every possible support thread is read, sometimes they slip through. but we always respond to the contact form!

thank you!!

Damn... I didn't even see the "Bug reports" link ;-)

For a reference to this "Variation thing" see EOT 175, but there are too many to list.

Still as I said. It's best of breed!
