As some of you may know, there is an opening that you thought only Patzers played, they call it the Parham after thier profit Bernard Parham. some of these players are quite good... at Rapid games. No person should loose at more than 5 min games to this because it hands black a draw from move 2. anyway. here goes the move order
1. e4 e5 2. Qh5?! Nc6 3. Bc4 g6 4. Qf3 and here Black has a few options, he can either play the mainline Nf6, or he can play Qe7 or Qf6. and will be fine for the rest of the game. here lines diverge, I will use a board so that people can clearly follow the lines.
at the end of the mainline, people have said an h pawn push should work for white, but it doesn't
no name calling, no insults, and no cussing on this thread or you will be reported for that reason and that reason alone.
jetfighter, there's absolutely no reason to start another Parham thread.
.....you're such a fool.
I don't believe any opening hands black a draw in 2 moves, at least not until they are fairly strong. There are too many blunders for that to be true to anyone below 1600.
Wow this is really groundbreaking stuff right here.
So does that mean I can for example get away with posting something like this?:
Openings such as the Ruy Lopez HAND black equality.
Okay, I will correct you: you're wrong. They don't call it the Spanish Torture for nothing...
lol...good one, Gav.
I am going to be nice here, that wasn't mean spirited or anything, if it was you would have been. but that was actualy kind of funny
also the reason I started this thread is because I wanted to divert the discussion from the thread about the Scotch and hopefully resolve this discussion in favor of all the Greats of the game who Gavinator and Whatup are calling idiots because they failed to play 2. Qh5?! when 2. Nf3 is clearly better.
what does white play after 10 0-0 and if there were earlier improvements then by all means post them
the database (for Master Games of course, but that is where you have the Ruy from as well) for 2. Qh5 and further "Parham" favours black with over 70%.
h4 looses a pawn on sight
if you have any improvements before 10. ... 0-0-0 then please post them
Well a Master player knows it. He is analyzing his games with his mind (which is at least chesswise far more brilliant than ours), computers and so on, and he would play it with success if he could. But he can't because it is not well rounded.
yes I was talking about a masters database indeed. Which is not a masters database is of no interest if I write about a masters database.
h4 is interesting. I think neither h4 nor d6 hand either side a pawn
Where do you see a "free pawn"?
10.Bxf7+ Kxf7 11.b4 d6 (11...Rf8 and 11...Kg7 are also fine) and after taking on a5 material is still equal, but White has worsened his position on the queenside. Try not shooting yourself on the foot next time.
10. Bxf7 Kxf7 11. b4! d6 (your recommendation) 12. bxa5 Qxa5 13. Qxf6. Did I miss something? That was in my head, I apologize if I was wrong.
No, you didn't miss something important. Just 13...Kxf6, but I guess you can pwn Black with the Parham even being a Queen down.
13.0-0 Kg7 folowed by ...Rf8 is an easy advantage for Black: Two bishops and better pawn structure, while the king is absolutely safe on g7- after all, white cannot attack with a lone queen.
I am not using chess365 as the database I mentioned. Don't you get it? In the masters database are only a few (not more than 30, which should be an indicator why 2. Qh5 does not work) 2. Qh5, but they nearly all lose. That is what I was saying.
so what would you play after 6. ... h6 whatup and Gavinator
