I was just wondering why this move isn't in any databases yet it seems very strong for white. My 2300 oponent used it on me, is it just a novelty or has it been used before?

    comments appreciated.

    13... f6 14. Be3 Rd8 15. Rd1 Bf8 16. Bc5 b6 17. Ba3 c5 and the pawn is lost

    oh also if 14. Bd2 then Rd8 15. Bc5 Bf8 16. Rd1 b6 followed by c5 and winning the pawn

You can also play 9 ...c6 to avoid all that stuff.  10 Nxe5 doesn't win the pawn after ...Re8.

9...c6 is also my preferred move, but Re8 is mainline iirc.  birdboy1's line looks good.

Birdboy looks to be right on. 12.d6?! is a scary looking move, and it would have been a shock over the board, but it really doesn't have any bite. Once the shock wears off, it becomes clear that the pawn on d6 is a target, not a threat.

    18. Bc4+ any

    19. Bd5 winning the exchange

Naa, looks like the bishop escapes... so 18...Nc6 and wins a piece.

Although, just throw in 16...Be6 and black will get a pawn sooner or later with a good position.
