Another thread taken off course by guess who.  I've got a crazy idea folks.  In a thread about the 2. Qe2 variation of the French, maybe you should friggin post stuff about the 2. Qe2 variation of the French, or not bother posting.  If you want to post off topic, there's a forum especially for that.

Yeah c'mon now, attack me.

no youre enough of a troll, i dont want to deal with you.

Holy crap, some actual analysis having to do with 2. Qe2 in the French: who'd have thunk.  Man I really am a troll, staying on topic in forum threads -- yeah that's the definition of a troll, as opposed to people posting off-topic and inflammatory stuff in a forum.

stop trolling, or else ill report you. Wink

Oh what would you know about the "s" or the "m" in any of that, you American?  I doubt any of those Florida college girls would even get close enough to you to even let you lick the bottom of their platform heels...

Ah, the "You're an American, lol combined with the "you don't get laid" argument.  Yeah you got me for sure brah.  Do you want a cookie too?

The transposition into the KIA vs. the Sicilian (drawn):

You are right in that the game was drawn, but after many innacuracies and mistakes.

#120: This is not the French, it is the Spanish. There has been a transposition to the Marshall attack. Please be careful which language you speak off. :-)

d4 looks like a good move. Tried to analyse it a little (at my level off course. End evaluation: position with a lot of errors possible for black and white. Would be very nice for players like Tal.

LoekBergman

Correct, it is the Möller-defense, but still Spanish with the strange move Ng4 instead of castling.

I agree, it wins time, but I would still prefer d6 or Qe7?! In the future will it lose time, because the knight will be chased back with h3. It has no drawback for white to return to e2.

The end position is clearly better for black, but I would play differently on different moves. White is too eager taking that pawn. Preparation with c3 makes it more a threat and turning Bd6 into a big pawn.

I play Spanish as white and I don't like to trade on c6, because it feels like helping black to develop his bishops. I always retreat to a4 unless they have played d6 before a6. Then might I capture the knight.

Because of the knight on g4 is capturing not that helpful for black, because he can not start pinning the knight on f3.

I didn't look at 9...g5 at all. What happens though after 9...g5 10. Bc1 g4 11. Ne1 Ndxe5 12. f4? Doesn't the g4 pawn just drop off and my king get exposed to attack?

any improvements (except from Yereslov "the Troll") are welcome

I've only encountered 2.Qe2 in 1/0 lightning. Usually I have already premoved 2...d5 by the time I see Qe2 so I'm forced into that line.

I sometimes don't bother playing ...c5 in that case, since I'll lose time relocating the d5 Queen and that extra turn used moving the c-pawn can make developing the queenside minor pieces tougher, with white's bishop at g2.

(I sometimes drop the queen back to d8, other times I swing it over to a5 like the Scandanavian.)

This is something I would respond with in lightning.

Karajakin won win this as White, was not aware Kasparov had played it, but would be interested to see the game if you could post a link.

Never mind. Found it here: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1070896

Do you see Anand, Topalov, Kramnik, Carlsen or any other top players playing 2.Qe2? No, and neither are any grand masters, international masters or masters.

2.Qe2 has been played only by patzers, that's for sure. To name a few:

Kasparov, Karjakin, Ivanchuk, Morozevich, Gelfand, Turov, Malakhov, Bologan, Zviaginsev, Short, Tal, McShane...

Should I also name GM's who have never passed 2700, or not?

Logical fallacy.

The fact that they have played and won is not a sign that the opening is good.

If it had good results, it would be played more often.

He didn't say it did. He was responding to someone who said that you don't see any top players playing it with a list of super GMs.

He was using sarcasm.
