Why do people play this variation of the Scandinavian defense? It's basically like jumping onto a sword.
This is no gem. Black played like a cavy on dope. And no, this is no variation of the Scandinavian. This is just utter crap.
"gem": Facetious term. And Qe5+ is supposedly a book move...
Qe5+ is a typical beginner's error. This move and its consequences may serve as a warning that you should never play openings you don't understand but apart form that, opening books should pass over it.
btw I intended in no way tp depreciate your play (you did exactly the right thing) but it takes two to produce a good game.
Oh I'm not taking any offense whatsoever, hahaha. My only concern is that the Chess.com evaluator says that Qe5+ is a "book move"... And I acknowledge that Black played like he was in a coma.
3. ...Qa5 and 3. ...Qd6 and are acceptable 3rd moves for black in the Scandinavian. This Qe5+ is not.
Also 2. ...Nf6 is acceptable
Funny enough, Chess.com's evaluator awarded me more blunders than him!
Lol you send this game through a chess.com analysis you are funny man
