Just wondering how some you of feel about having the Reti in your repertoire. I've been playing around with it lately and have to admit I like the trans-positional possibilities.
no point in transposing i think just play the opening you want
I am trying out the Reti meself. I have bought this book by Eric Schiller (Hypermodern repertoire for white, Cardoza Publishing, 1999) and am trying to go thru it and see how much I can grasp of his advice. The reti gives me (as White) a say in where the game goes and so far the I have had good results from the opening.

Or the even more "forcing" 1... Nf6!
its not as simple as that. even if you play your 1...d6, white can still dictate where you go from there. white is not just prepared to play 1.Nf6 only mind you!!!!!

The whole point to transposing is to catch your opponent off guard. If they are expecting the moves in a certain order, they may already have the proper response planned. By transposing, they may make moves that are considered poor if the moves were played in the correct order.
very true i play the reti alot and i love it
