Does this opening score a inaccuracy for white? And what are the benefits from it exactly?
The only benefits I see are for the black player.
In what way ?
Lol I played that today :P.
Technically there is one advantage... in this position white's king is slightly closer to the center... if he's able to keep himself safe, he may have certain advantages in an endgame :P.
But seriously, it's terrible.
Once I played 1.f4 Kf2 but not quite the same ! does it score a inaccuracy for white ?
This is called the Gedult's opening Hammerschlag, the barnes is 1. e4 f6. And to respond to your question, Chessmaster 10th Edtion says it is a book move, so I don't think it is considered an inaccuracy.
But according to chess.com this is the barnes hammerschalg. I think 1.f3 b5 Kf2 is the Fried Fox Pork Chop Opening.
Chessmaster says the Fried Fox is reached 1. e4 f6 2. d4 Kf7.
To use Nimzovich... if a move doesn't gain tempo, or work towards the control of the center, it's an innacuracy in the opening. Basically meaning moves that aren't e4, d4, Nf3, and Nc3 are wrong first moves :P.
But yeah... f3 would be considered innacurate... but don't take my word for it... ask your friendly neighbourhood master :P.
BUT IT DOES WORK TOWARD THE CENTRE
f3 controls e4:)
oh,and c4 and f4 are also fine openings
SO CUTE! ...
This is a legendary opening. It's absolutely about the worst White can play - what the heck is he thinking? - but it was played regularly in the '90s on the Internet Chess Club by a player who demolished nearly everyone with it. The rumor was that the player was Bobby Fischer, although no one ever proved it. The player was beating masters rather easily with it, which means he must have been a very strong GM, no matter who he was.
It might just as easily have been someone like Ivanchuk or Shirov, though. Just the sort of stunt those guys might pull, and they were strong enough to pull it off, even back then!
f4, c4, b3, and g3 are all acceptable as well.
What the binnacles.
The benifit is white can't castle now!
lol...
Well it looks like black can control the center,
and your knight is trapped in, and it'll take you 2 xtra moves to manually castle,
WHAT A HUGE BENEFIT FOR WHITE!
coughs -- sorry my throat
Yes this gives this opening gives white a perfect start to the game.
When in doubt, experiment. So I'm going over to my Fritz 8. See you in a little while. The outcomes are in my next (following ) posts
