I recently feel in love with the Accelerated Dragon (after hearing it mentioned in this forum). I don't think i have to post the notation, it seems to be a popular opening. However, i my center position always seems messed up, ie. my queen and king pawns are always out of position. Where should they be? (Without sounding annoying, a diagram would be nice, i have a hard time seeing the moves in my head)

Because he feels that they are awkward in the current playing position and believes that there is better way to place them but he dosen't magically have this knowledge and thus looked for help from the respectable chess.com community.

On the subject of the sicilian these are the two main pawn structures that black has Structure A

And structure B the main difference in the structure is simply the pawn holding the c5 point.

Note that also a few sicilians have e6 played.

also if you fancy in diagram A a6 can be played if the position calls for it.

Good diagrams Rexbo, you've nailed it there. A little explanation though:

1. The c5 pawn is often exchanged for whites d-pawn after white plays d4, this allows black to play Rc8 and attack down the c-file, especially if white castles quuenside (then the focus of the R on c8, and the B on g7 becomes the N on c3).

2. Black often retains a "low" pawn structure (with few weaknesses) and tempts white to expand in the centre, this allows black to attempt to attack the big centre on the dark squares.

In the main line of the Accelerated Dragon, the pawns in the center remain stationary until a d5 thrust is necessary to open the position.
