    That's interesting, 7...dxc4 gets good results for White according to the database, so I'll be interested to learn what an engine has to say. Thanks for the suggested line.

    After 6...d5 White had a better move than 7.Nc3. What about
    7.Bxd5 and after 7...Qxd5 8.Nc3 attacking the Black Q and N
    at e4. Black cannot play 8...dxc3 because the Black Q drops.

    It seems dc4 simplifies whatever white has in mind . The more exchanges the better for black cause of the extra awkward pawn.
