What are the best openings for blitz? Some people tell me an opening that dosen't need a lot of memorization like the sicilian. So some people tell me the colle.

I play the sicilian as black to complicate things as much as possible for white and prevent a quick mate. I play the colle as white because you can play it against almost anything and so can make your opening moves VERY quickly.

There is no best opening for blitz.

Just get your pieces out and control the center.

Even if you lose a pawn or two or even a whole piece the game isn't over....it's more of a time issue than material issue.

So I say pawns to the center and develop in a classical fashion.

Or....Know your openings very well and go from there.
