Hello,

I have question about the Bishop's Opening after the move 3.d3 play 3. ... d5 is a mistake for Stockfish and analyse engine of chess.com. I find it totaly understanding ! I think that I don't understand correctly the position but for me it's not a mistake.

I have done few test with chess engines. You have results on this diagram.

My question is what is the advantage ? I don't understand how chess.com Engine can tell me it's a mistake to play d5.

Thank you for your help.

I would be curious as well. My copy of MCO-15 gives this as one of the main lines with Black playing 4...Bg4. I know that the mainline has Black playing c6 to support the d5 advance. Anyway, doesn't appear to be a mistake at least according to GM de Firmian but we'll see.

@Arawn_of_Annuvin : Thank you, now i am seeing the plan for white and I understand why it's not realy correct for black.

@Fiveofswords : It's clearly more fun, I am going to prepar this variation. Thanks.
