i read once that bobby fischer once played a game in which he placed all 8 pawns on the first rank in the opening. does anyone know exactly which game this was? i would like 2 no the opponent, the year, the city & the event so i can look it up in the database. also wereany other master games played using this attack?

Look up what rank means and refine your q.
I'm pretty dubious in any case, though.

I guess you meant the third rank ;) i'm not aware of a serious fisher game with the desribed feathures, but that sort of thing can occasionally arise from an hippo setup. The strong russian IM playing white in this game went on to be defeated by his czech opponent (a master). Position after black 18th move.

Yes, that's an incredible and quite famous game.
