What's best to play against Budapest gambit?

Edit: Can White keep the extra pawn?

Tom500, 8. e3 instead of 8. Bxe5? White should take the hanging piece. Perhaps you were thinking of the line that goes:

    6. ... Qe7 7. a3 Ncxe5 8. Nxe5 Nxe5 9. e3

Nice video. I am a frequent user of the Budapest Gambit with black. I'll admit, I play it in the hope white declines with 3.d5 after which I can play 3.Bc5 and celebrate this bishop on that now strong diagonal. But if white takes the pawn and manages to find / knows 3.Bf4 it's going to be hard :-s

Thanks, two recommended moves are 4.Nf3 and 4.Bf4.

Can White keep the extra pawn?
