I'm curious about this opening line. 1. E4 E5 2.Nf3 f5. I'm wondering if this is any good for black, pros cons? I know the continuation must be either 3.Nxe5 or 3.exf5. right? just wondering if i could get some input from peeps on whats the best line for black to take, and maybe chances they would get from this opening.

the gambit isn't really sound, but it can be played for a win against someone that hasn't seen it before. The main move is Nxe5 (exf5 lets black almost equalize after e4) after which black has a choice of many moves. Here are some lines.

Personally, I love when black moves their pawn off of f7 it makes attacking so much easier.

Would you like to play a game in this line?

thank you pawnlever, and to all the rest of you as well. i played a couple of blitz games with it...didn't do much for me, i think i'll leave it alone. Someone pulled it out against me, i dominated that game...but i was curious about it.
