rad1 Bxd4 looks good for black. the indirect defense doesnt work i think.
Bxd4?! Bxg6 leaves Black in a bit of a messy situation.
12...h6 is equally good to 13...g6. Subtle differnces, but both moves are OK.
13...Re8 is the most principled reply. 13...Bg7 is also played frequently, but after 14.Bxg7 Kxg7 15.Be4! Black has a few difficult problems to solve.
In the final position, white threatens a few things, but Black can probably get away with 16...e5! 17.Bc4!? (17.de5 Nxe5 is almost equal) when Black may try many moves, but none of them is easy sailing.
ok... Bxd4 Bxg6 Bxf2+ maybe? Idk. I certainly would not go for it.
Metaknight, I updated the analysis in my original post #1. Black's position is horrible in the final position - White exposes the enemy K, gets rid of his IQP, inflicts an IQP on the enemy, and blockades it. Also the Q can come to c3 with mate threats.
The above line you showed us is not the main panov attack. See some of theses :
Panov attack suits players who love piece play. It's similar to Grundfeld defense in the sense that in Grundfeld too, it's piece play that's very important.
This line favors those who love concrete play full of wild tactics.
I hate the Grunfeld, it allows Black to have active piece play, and I can't seem to handle my pawn center well - either I overextend it and it gets ripped apart by pure pressure, or I just let it sit there and can't find a good plan. How do you handle the Grunfeld as White?
How do you join a team in OTB ???
