Checkmate in opening

    Hi guys,

A chessfriend of mine told me about the Evans gambit, so I took a look at it and I found this by watching the moves of Fritz 11's opening book:

The moves till 17. Qg3 are from Fritz's opening book. Since 15...Rg8 Fritz can see checkmate in 11 moves.

The moves before 15...Rg8 weren't very good too: after white did 15. Bxg7, white's positioning was ±7.51 better!

Why would they have put this kinda moves in Fritz's opening book? There's no use at all. You can't win anymore when you're black here, even when you don't do 15...Rg8!

BTW, this is only one way for checkmate. There were even more.

It's odd that that line is in Fritz, it's a completely hopless looking situation for Black.

Why should Black develop his Knight? I've played this as white at a chess match... So I know this opening a bit. When I was black, I should exchange Bishop at c3, because the Queen is not at the same line as the Bishop.....

Robert James Fischer vs Reuben Fine - New York 1963. That is my favourite opening and my favourite chess gameSmile
