can some titled players give me a hand here

i was wondering if the opening is stable enough 2 be played in club matches do u reckon it is becoz recentely even though ive wanted 2 play it i have played nimzo instead coz it is solider can it be played effectively??

The Chigorin's Defense is pretty sharp and counterattacking. Stable, I'm not sure I'd call it, as it seems to be one of those openngs where one screwup by either player will tend to cost them severely.

I am not exactly titled, but I would say, although I don't play it, Chigorin's Defense is a solid system. Note that Black usually gets two Knights, wheras White gets two Bishops.

At the 1400-1800 level it scores 36% wins, 25% draws, 39% losses, whereas a Nimzo/QID setup scores 33% wins, 29% draws, 38% losses.
