why?most of chess players prefer to choose d4&e4 as the best chess opening in their game......is it good to start or it may be wrong one? reply to this guys.......and u may suggest some other opening linke French defense......Queen's gambit......and many more......so beginner in chess.com can understand that......try to share your taughts.......thank u for reading this

Staking a claim in the center is a good way to start a game. It just makes sense. Either you drive the course of play or it drives you.

1.c4 (the English) or 1.Nf3 (the Reti) are both very respectable first moves if you want a break from 1.e4/1.d4. You need to watch out for transpositions, though, from 1.c4/1.Nf3 into the 1.d4 mainlines.
