That's what I call talking, Lionel!
try the najordf, it will help you. I thought the same way about the sicilan deffense but then I finally understood it.
Hey - Thought you might enjoy a couple of games. I don't care which side I play; I chose "Random" when I sent the original game. Looks like an interesting discussion.
Ok - Edited my invitation. As I say, "Always ready to play, always ready to learn." Let's try out some of these suggestions!
ericmittens - Great game!!
Thanks
I've seen 0-0-0 and attack g6 with the h-pawn.
Don't know what it is, and can't tell you the specifics, but you might try it.
I've run the h-pawn without castling, and in that particular game (1600 level), it opened up the h-file and to some degree the g-file for me. The h-file eventually won the game for me.
FWIW.
All whine and no cheese.
^thanks for the advice
Since you've been having problems playing two aggressive lines (Samisch and Four Pawns), you might want to consider trying the Averbakh (Be2 and Bg5). It's smooth and positional.
And by the way, I don't think 4 e3 against the Grunfeld is weak; I play it all the time. Mainly (a top consideration with me) to get away from all that book junk.
tonydal, i e3 a little passive isn't it compared to the lines where white gets a big center?
You're probably right; but as I say, it gets me out of the book (and nothing makes me happier than when people are dismissive of something I play...it tends to make them careless).
That opening puts the psycology in your favor.
