Defences to the Parham Attack

It's funny you'd say that, since he's about 200 points higher than you.

The parham may win the game in 10 moves but the english opening is a FORCED win in 4. Could you guys please throw in some threads about the english instead of this parham nonsense?

Look at this opening instead:

This is an even game.

This proves there is no defense for the parham.

Wow...youve beaten a guy, who´s 300 points below you and that should be the proof, that the Parham is the strongest opening in the universe...Parham-worshippers are strange...

It's a playable opening. There is no refutation for it.

Black equalizes in 3 moves against the Ruy Lopez.

I posted a game by Nakamura.

He agrees it's a playable opening, so have many other GM's.

We should ask an IM.... Of course, we all know what will happen...

The_Gavinator

IM Andrew Martin believes this is a great opening.

Jetfighter, that is an oversight, white isn't losing either.

The_Gavinator

Then why do people play the Ruy Lopez?

you failed to include Black's next moved Gavinator

Well, if black played like a patzer, then yes, he would have a bad position.

I give a sh.. if its refuted or not, but why are the Parham-worshippers spamming this server with hundreds of different threads about an unimportant little opening???

Because that is one of White's best ways of fighting for an advantage against ...e5. You don't think so because it does not involve tactics at the begining. You try to gain a positional advantage, which can be the prelude to an attack. If you want tactics you should play the Italian or The King's Gambit.

Because the opening is a lot more fun than playing your typical, dull, and repetitious 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6.

At least this opening is not studied to death.

Most opoonents start raging when they see it and mess up.

Quoteception.

And the KG is tactical, but easily stopped. Parham is just as tactical, I don't see why it gets hated on so much.

They are upset because there is no opening book on it.

They are probably pissed of that for once in their life they actually have to make an original move.

I love openings that make my oponents rage and get off their opening books.

Eris_Discordia

@Yereslov Having fun with it is fine, the problem is that gavinator and whatup go around claming it's 'the best opening ever' and that the Ruy Lopez and King's Gambit are crap, that's what bugs people.

(The fact that they are stubborn and ignorant is also annoying.)
