Fair enough, but if you can type all this stuff out it doesn't take much extra effort to use correct punctuation and orthography...

LOL!

That's just about what I did back in the 1980s with a chess computer I had. I wanted to find out what openings and variations it knew. I would play until it left book then back up and make it go down a different line. Again, and again, and again while writing out all the moves by hand.
I never finished compiling that list but I found it with some old books recently. I was impressed by how far I had gotten and the patience I must have had. I still have that old computer but not quite in working condition. The sensors in the board gave out years ago. I've kept it with the (probably foolish) intention of someday repairing it or incorporating it into a better board.

I did the same thing! Was about 12 years old, I think. I only really started playing chess seriously at 15...

I  did finish the list (it was a IBM PC program named "Chess 1.0"; it may have had a smaller book than yours). From the lines I wrote down, I picked a repertoire more or less at random (1.d4, Semi-Slav as black vs 1.d4, can't remember against 1.e4), and that's still the basis of my repertoire 23 years on...

It must have been satisfying to finish that list. I still wish I had finished mine. I'll have to look at it to see how much I really did. I had a Fidelity Sensory Chess Challenger but I'll have to find the manual to find out which model. I just did a fairly extensive search and couldn't find it anywhere.
