Komodo's debating the merits of Nxe5 Bxf2+, vs a less complicated d3 in this position:



I believe this is known theory, but my own knowledge is somewhat limited here. Is there an established verdict?

Ironically, Komodo eventually reconsidered both lines, choosing O-O with a small advantage...

 

But, mainline Nxe5 according to Livebook research:

It looks drawish now, but playable.

These lines haven't been analyzed as heavily as other mainlines, so it's possible that a few moves aren't the best.
