i played in the northern virginia open a month or two ago, and with my three games with the black pieces, i faced king pawn openings all three times, and always played the pirc defense, and all three times i found myself playing the f3 system! now i have some books on the pirc, alburt's famous "pirc alert" and my personal favorite, virgus' "the pirc in black and white" but i hadn t really studied these lines because honestly i rarely faced them on chess.com (ive played literally hundreds of pircs on this site)
however in all three of my games facing the f3 system, i tried the same plan, that is not in my books, although it is similiar in that they are queenside attacks (because white has castled long) against their kingside attacks. i tried to play ...b6, to trade off white bishops on the a file, (cause they re annoying to me) and then try to open the b and c files for my heavy pieces in a queenside attack.
in my first match, i played a 1900 hundred, and came close to beating him with my queenside assault, after the game he admitted he was worried about losing to a 1200 rated player, which made me smile. then later in the tournament, i ended up replaying the exact same match up to move 18 with another 1800~ player! i was excited here because up to move 18, i had used 2 minutes to think, and he had used almost 40, and was already huffing and puffing about his position. however on move 18 i played a novelty from my previous line, because i had analyzed it in between rounds, and it ended up not being as strong, even though it was an obvious looking move, and i lost quickly. still though, i enjoy playin the f3 line with a pirc!
anyway i was just asking if anyone had any experience with lines like these, or might like to play a match with this system! i would gladly take either side, although when i play against the pirc, i prefer other lines as white!
Could you post some boards with analysis?

that is a game i used the same system in, but he accepted a pawn sacrifice which i think was probably dangerous.
i ll put up some of my games from that tournament, and what some of the GM games along these lines go.
hi. are you a pirc/czech defence player?
Pirc, huh? I've always been very curious about the Pirc... What are some of the main ideas behind it?
