i read a posting where someone thought that perpetual check not be allowed or if it was honorable.  If we took that stance then why not make fools mate illegal, i've seen it used too many times at tournament and in some instances it caused the player a metal or trophy.  chess has improve from its initial game, murphy, casablanca, fischer all made contributions that to this date are still used.

Should we make them illegal?  Any CHANGES to the current rules should only be to made the game more interesting.  Of course this is only my opinion.

Eddie Murphy and Humphrey Bogart are two of my favorite chess players, too.

More seriously: fools mate has won tournaments?!

I agree opinions differ....I think that such moves should not be made illegal...especially if chess needs to improve....one has to be atleast basiclly carefull by not moving into a mate in the openings....only then will he/she improve their game.

I agree the purpose of my post was to let every one know that every game you play changes you.  You gain alot of experiance and with experiance you should be able to avoid a fool mate but slip do happen.  but after all it only a game.
