why isnt the rubinstein played more at high level? any ideas?seems like a super solid, easy way to play, which I think i might take up.
Even though its super solid, its not fun to play.
i like the endgames im getting out of it, though I may learn steinitz if it proves too difficult to pull wins on players lower than meand i'd think fun at 2600+ is pretty much a second priority
I prefer the winawer french as black while my wife prefers the classical . As white I play the tarrasch against the french more than 3 Nc3 .
Does this book have verbal explanations on the same sense as Mc Donald(many ackwnoledge as one of the best French defense author). How this book compare to the new edition of the french book by Watson?
Akobian occasionally plays the Rubinstein and has a video on it on ICC. There's nothing really wrong with it, but White is always more comfortable.
i agree, i like the positions i get with it, and most people don't really study it. I used it to beat a guy in otb who also plays the rubenstein, but he was white in that game
dat winawer lol. It's crazy and you need to learn a lot of lines. Good luck man. I'm just sticking with the steinitz lol.
I'm thinking of switching to the winawer.
oh come on, the MacCutcheon is amazing!
