guys every gambit is fine only when you play them to playes with a more positional nature. e.g. when i was about 10 ( now I am 16) used to play all the gambits of the world only to get a fearsome attack even if it cost me 2 pieces sometimes . Of course as I grew up I stopped playing these "dubious" ( of course they are not) openings as the others would beat me because they would know 10 moves-deep theory.... So don't hesitate playing a gambit against a non-experianced or a more positional minded player when you know its theory well (say 12-15 moves deep) as they will help you develop your attacking skills and calculating skill. Gambits should be advised to young players for those 2 reasons. By the way my favorite gambits are:
1) The Morra (1.e4 c5 2.d4 cxd4 3.c3)
2) The King's Gambit (1.e4 e5 2.f4)
3) The BDG ( I DNT REMEMBER ITS FULL NAME AFTER 5 YEARS.... 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nc3 d5 3.e4 dxe4 4.f3 or 1...d5 2.e4)
4) The Evan's Gambit (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5 4.b4)
5) The Latvian Gambit ( or reverse King's Gambit 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f5)
Thanks for all the interesting comments. The ultimate Gambit has to be Reti's Double Rook sacrifice--which he won! Be sure to check out BrianWallChess on groups.yahoo.com.
3) The BDG ( I DNT REMEMBER ITS FULL NAME AFTER 5 YEARS.... 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nc3 d5 3.e4 dxe4 4.f3 or 1...d5 2.e4)
That would be the Blackmar-Deimar Gambit if I'm not mistaken.
My Favorite Chess Gambit is the King's Gambit Declined. I rarely take the Gambit pawn, and usually get a good game.
