Any master would play the obvious Qxg5, winning a piece, but the most played move is 4... Nf6. If 4... Qxg5, 5. d4 does not work due to 5... Qxg2 6. Rf1 Qxe4+. I would like to see what the average rating is of those who play 4... Nf6.
It looks like the stats are not accurately reflecting transpositions. I clicked on the link to view the 700+ games where black played Nf6 and then sorted by Rating(black) and found this game where black moves Nf6 before white moves Ng5. I suspect that the vast majority of those 700+ games are like this which means that the stats are not to be trusted.
