I often play aguy in my chess club with two stargane habits that i'd like to capatailize on (In regards to openings).

As White he finchettos very often

As Black he brings his Queen out early as defense then quick coutner attack (usually with bishop in support)

With Openings are good at coutnering these these habits? I can sometime sbeta him now, but i'd like to make ti mroe certain. Thank you

there is no real counter to fianchettoing other then being able to support a center... but you can always punish queens by paying VERY VERY close attention to whatever they threaten (many a quick checkmates have been preformed by queens) and forcing it to move with developing moves (For example, in the opening e4 - d5 - exd5 - Qxd5, play Nc3 to develop a knight and force the queen to move)

Mowque if you can threaten that queen when it comes out early and make him lose tempo in his opening you're golden...See game below...

as for fianchettoing, it's a fairly common style among some players...you can try to get your pawns to the center but whether that is a counter to it...is a debate for a different question (Hypermodernism v. non-hypermodernism)

The answer is pretty pedestrian actually: If your opponent isn't really such a good player, work on your game and you'll have him soon enough.

Opening tricks that are getting to you like "surprise" queen tactics are really an issue of your missing tactics.

Work on tactics and the basic principles of openings and middlegame will make you hard for him to deal with and he'll be here asking for help on you.
