Please help me. My last two options are E5 or Sicilian which i think are really good choices. For a long time i was a caro kann player but i hated it. I hated the positions i got and th eonly way to study it was 1 or 2 books and karpov games. I just dont like it. I am also a KID player so i thought the pirc would be a good idea but ive been told i can get better play/ positions with other openings. French is out. I have no idea how players can stand to play the french. The french advance looks cringing to me. So now E5 or Sicilian. Whats the differences between E5 or Sicilian i understand its a broad question

Openings are bunk. Play what you like, and ignore what anyone else says.

Why do you not want to play the French? At your level, the French is extremely easy to play for black.

I think that most KID players prefer the Sicilian over 1...e5. This still leaves the question which Sicilian to choose. The Dragon, Accelerated Dragon, or Sveshnikov may be more to the liking of a KID player than, say, the Scheveningen, the Kan, or the Classical.

An alternative might be the Modern Defence which is somewhat more flexible than the Pirc.
