Might I suggest the Steiner variation?
and if Be6 trying to exchange as many pieces as possible?
If ...Be6, then simply Bxe6 fxe6 where black has a weak e pawn and kingside.
Be6 after Bc4
As black against the steiner variation I play 2. ... c5(1. e4 e6 2. c4 c5)
post #84 , after 6...Be6 7 Qb3 and white is better. there are two better moves for black at move 6... both Nb6 and Nxc3 are better than 6... Be6
I personally prefer playing a slightly unusual line in the Winawer :
1. e4 e6
2. d4 d5
3. Nc3 Bb4
4. e5 c5
5. a3 Bxc3
6. bxc3 Ne7
7. a4!?
The idea is to play positionally, stick the bishop on a3, even sacrificing the a pawn, and advancing f4 and f5. I have had reasonable results, especially if black plays 6......Qc7 7. a4 Ne7 8. Ba3
