4. ..Bxc3+ is not necessary. I think you should wait until white has played a3 - now you are basically giving him an extra tempo for free.

I  think your 'trap' is best answered by 7. Nh3 followed by f3, Nf2, e4, Bd3 etc.

Nh3 is the correct move after f5?  This way white can hit the knight w/f3 and if Black plays Qh4 then g3 is viable because the knight shields the rook and is protected by the Bf1.

As stated earlier, an unprovoked Bxc3 is probaly not best choice for Black in most of these lines.

My System was probably the first 'real' chess book I studied.

 

I think today that the genesis of my obsession with the Bishop pair comes from his chapter on the Horwitz Bishops.

I agree with everyone who says, "Why not g3?"  It isn't the end of the game, unless white resigns, which they shouldn't.
