No it is just a blunder. I believe you are referring to 3..d6, allowing white to take the f7 pawn?

much better is 3..e6 when White's queen is misplaced.

I know I blundered.  But after he took my f7 pawn...I had him in a trap, no?

    It worked, nonetheless.

No trap... you simply had a lost position.

That's no gambit....bad moves on both sides.

After he took my 4.Qf7+.  Did he have any good moves?  This is my question.

Well, after 4 Qf7+ you had a worthless position, and his was hardly worse than you, except that he was up a pawn and you had no compensation for it except for a king on the run and no castling, which, incidently, is no good things.

Bad game. Gambit? Huh. More like lost game.

This was a 2 minute game.

Part of the Gambit was the time he took to think of what to do after his check.

After he took my pawn what should he have done?

PaladinIsBack and Tricklev... from your words you seem quite ignorant (or just snobby teachers - I don't know i haven't checked out your ratings - but either way ignorant to being gentlemanly).  If my position was no worse than his - that makes for a fair game... one needs to think who was better.

Here is my analysis of what should have happened. Enjoy!

The Bowlder Attack variation of the Sicilian Defence. Black is known to have the advantage here, after 2... e6 blocking the bishop's scope.
White develops his queen too early in the game. 3... Nf6, 3... e6 and 3... Ne5 are all good moves, and give black the advantage.
After 3... d6? white clearly has the advantage. He is a pawn up and black has no compensation. His best continuation would be normal development, for example:
    And white is clearly better.

I'm not snobby, and my rating is nothing impressive, but this opening just isn´t any good, you give up your castling, a pawn, and development (being in checks isn´t exactly giving you lots of time) for no reason at all. Atleast white has his queen and bishop developted, and can easily continue to develop, you´ve got a king you have to get to safety, and only a knight developed. White is alot better.

look, don't lash out at everybody for saying the truth.  They are not acting "snobbish", they are being blunt.  You asked if that move was a gambit, and well, it wasn't, it was just a blunder.

Simplest is Bxf7+ Kd7 Bxg8 where you have lost castling rights + a pawn, although Qxf7 was not a bad move, just harder to calculate.  White was fine with many escape routes.

Look Mr. Tricklev.   My ratings are higher than yours across the board.  You never even played a quick game on this site, let alone beat somebody with a 1400 quick rating.  I don't think of you as a snob, but perhaps the former.  Please be a little more patient and learn from what you see.

How is my lack of quick rating relevant? I don´t play quick, nor Blitz, I don't enjoy it, but I fail to see why my lack of quick rating makes 3...d6 a good idea. I haven´t even been offensive to you, I gave my opinion on the position, that´s all. If you can´t handle people giving opinions you disslike, maybe www.Disney.com is a homepage more suited to your character.

I didn't mean really to insult you.  I just felt the need to put you in your place.
