In the OTB games I play this opening seems to come up frequently. I was wondering if anyone knew sharp response to it that would put the pressure back onto white. Doesnt matter if there is alot of theory as this would put me at an advantage in my low level OTB matches.
Is there a response that is more aggressive than just playing natural developing moves. Ie Nf6 or Bc5.
Thanks for the idea. I always respond e5 to try and get the Ruy lopez so that I can play the Schliemann defense, which im quite fond of. Throws the cat amongst the pidgeons at my level.

As pointed out earlier, Nf6 is VERY aggressive, in fact, Bronstein suggested that the term "defense" does not fit, and that the name "Chigorin Counterattack" would be more appropriate.
