It seems many openings have lines named after the great players who used them.

Are there any lines named after Kasparov?

Or is everything worth naming already named?

It is difficult in our times to find a new line because chess have been played a lot for a long time. That's why most of the names are from players of old times.

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 4. Nc3 Bb4 5.Qc2 is named after Kasparov. It is also called the capablanca variation too some time ago.

If not mistaken, I remember a line in the sicilian that is named after kasparov too. It is called the kasparov gambit - later found to be unsound.

Can someone remember that line?

Actually Lousy your move numbering is wrong and the line that is named after Kasparov is not the one you said.  1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 e6 3 Nc3 Bb4 4 Nf3 is the Kasparov Variation.

The Garry Gambit occured in game 16 of the 1985 match.

QUESTION:   DID  KASPAROV  EVER  PLAY THE  SCOTCH(C45) OPENING  AGAINST  THE  SICILIAN DRAGON  OR  NAJDORF  SICILIAN OPENINGS

IF  SO  , PLEASE  GIVE  ME  SOME  OF  THOSE  GAMES  TO  LOOK UP  , PLEASE  NAMES  AND  DATES

I  HEARD  THAT  YOU CAN'T  PLAY  AGAINST THE  SICILIAN  WITH  THE  SCOTCH  BECAUSE  C 4

I'M  ASKING FOR  INFO,  SINCE  I  AM  JUST  A BEGINNER  AND TRYING TO  IMPROVE  MY  CHESS GAME,  I  LIKE TO  PLAY  THE SCOTCH OPENING AS I THINK  IT  GIVES ME  A LOT OF  VERSATILITY IN  MOVEMENTS

                                THANKS      TONY  SOLIS

MY  EMAIL  IS   antne003@comcast.net  if you  have informat,  also  any  new info on the  scotch  would  be appreciated
