Interesting discussion on the KGA. the stat about how often you will face the KGA is a bit flawed. If you always reply e5 to e4, it certainly will arise fairly often. In OTB and here on chess.com, I often defend against the KGA. Certainly more than 10% of my games with Black.

I just completed a game with the exact opening moves posted by Fiveofswords. I am interested in what the Shaw book says about Blacks best continuation after Qb3.
I just heard of this book this evening, as I just joined this discussion.
After Qb3, the main continuations for Black are Qe2 (the most popular choice) and Qd2 (my choice and also played by Karpov in 1969). Does Shaw have an opinion on these 2 choices?
Najdorfian, thanks for that information. I probably will get this book. My last chess book purchase was in the 80's. A little out of date.
I noticed that I gave wrong information. What I meant was: What does Shaw say about Black best continuation after 10. Qb3. In a recently completed game, I play Qd7. Does Shaw say anything about this? I am wondering if it still stands up.
Shaw's book looks interesting. The book I rely on is "King's Gambit" by Korchnoi and Zak (1974). Time to update my knowledge of theory!
Well obviously it's not possible to transpose to that after Nc3, though yes the point of g3 is to get the pawns to advance like that.
