But I would just like to talk about the kings gambit... what do you think thbe best return to 1. e4 e5 2. f4 Bc5?
Thanks for any posts.
that's the gambit declined right? 3...Nf6 is the best respons.
No, not the declined, it is called the classical variation but technically it is declined!
i have kings gambit tournament come join us and try your opening lines
So, are either of you interested in joining my one?
I stopped playing the Kings Gambit because of this article that was written by Bobby.

Pah! When has any good analysis come out of that brain.
Show us some REAL evidence!
In all seriousness though, that is pretty annoying. I've always liked the King's Gambit.
Fischer wrote this article after Spassky defeated him using the King's Gambit. Bobby used to make lots exaggerated statements like this one. They generally weren't true. =)
As for the KG, I don't like to employ it.
When facing it as black I usually play the Falkbeer counter-gambit.
Even Fischer's temper tantrums produced brilliancies!
That article is why I started playing the KGA Bishop's Gambit. Its a very flexible opening and inexperienced blakc players often overextend themselves. The white player just has to be confortable with playing positions where he does not castle. Take a look at it, even Fischer played it on occasion.
