Dear ladies and gents,

    The best defense to the King's Gambit is Fischer's DefenseEmbarassed  By playing 3... d6, White could play 4. d4 in the "conservative" spirit of former World Champion, Bobby Fischer.  The purpose of 4. d4 is to build up a solid center in case the White King stayed in the middle.  As to 3... d6, it is to keep the black bishop on the king's side as a closed guard to the Black King in case it castles king-side.  Let's see the risky move of Mr. Alexander Morozevich in which he lost to the World Champion Garry Kasparov.

 

 

 

 

 

 

To repeat it again, we should play conservatively even in the King's Gambit!

So what do you suggest to do after 5...g4  to sacrificing the knight?
