Modern Benoni Four Pawns Attack is a brutal  aggressive opening  by white.  This aggressive early assault is used to gain space then tear through blacks defenses.  White hopes to pull off a powerful attack  before  black can stablize or counter attack.  Like all Benoni  Openings it leads to very tatical games .  White especially must be careful not to allow black to  pull off any tactical attacks as white  creates defensive weakeness.  Black likewise must be weary of sacrifices and tactical strikes  white threatens  due to whites  aggressive  formation.  White must be  certain therefore to gain a winning advantage before black can  take initiative.

Here's an example of a tactical game vs Fritz 10 sparring (hard setting).  I won  after Fritz as per  its programming made an  inaccuracy  allowing  me to  get a  winning advantage through a combination forcing a pawn premotion.   After that well it was trivial.

Anyone else have any good advice on playing modern benoni 4 pawns attack or just benoni in general.  Any good games or theories about the attack should be played after leaving book.  Plans of action as black or white? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated

There is a book "Beating King's Indian and Benoni" shock your opponents with the Four Pawns Attack) by Anatoli Vaisser, published by The American Batsford Chess Library, 1997. I played many games with it and had good results in some tournaments as well as on line.
You arraive to the same position: (I am new at posting boards - sorry)
    a) King's Indian      -
    1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6 5. f4 0-0 6.Nf3 c5 7. d5 e6 8.Be2 exd5 9.cxd5
    b) Modern Benoni  1.d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3.d5 e6 4.Nc3 exd5 5.cxd5 d6 6.e4 g6 7.f4 Bg7 8.Nf3 0-0 9.Be2
although here it is written white move, it is rather black move.
One of those days I will make it right.

Ahh I see thank you! I'll have to look into that book.  I appreciate the suggestion it I hadn't been able to find any good books on it.

Yeah talhal Benoni is my favorite white opening after English Symmetry or English transposition to Kings Indian Defense.  Its also my favorite defense against d4 against English(1. c4) I prefer Benko(1...g6 2. d4 Bg7)
