Name this opening

This topic is for openings you use, but you don't know its name.

I use the opening irrelevant of the oponent's opening and it goes like this: 1.e4  2.d4  3.Nf3  4.Nc3  5.Be3  6.Bd3.

If it exists, please name it for me.

Along with the modern, the position can be reached through the Pirc defense (Classical system line)

Usually when I play, my opponent doesn't mess up my opening. I asked for the name because it works most of the time. ;-)

It depends what black's position looks like. As mentioned above, that position could come from a modern or pirc . . . perhaps KID as well. That position is basically the ideal position for white to be in and most openings revolve around the fact that white is trying to get as close to that position as possible and black is trying to prevent that setup. So yeah, go for it when you can but as soon as you play better players you won't be able to have it.

The name of the opening would be called

"The Dream Position"

or

"The Golden 10 point position"

The reason they sometimes call it 10 point position is becuase it usually takes white 10 moves to reach the Ideal set up.

The Sad Part is it rarely ever happens. Good chess players never let it happen. However, people never stop trying to reach it.

Note that even against the Modern def. it's not that good a setup. Say, 1 e4 g6 2 d4 bg7 3 nf3 d6 4 nc3 nf6 5 bd3 0-0 6 be3 a6 (followed by b5, bb7, nbd7, c5) is a decent position for Black. You should study typical pawn breaks for Black in fianchetto openings (KID, Gruenfeld, Pirc) using a database (google Chessbase Database) to understand where White should put their bishops in the opening. For example, you rarely move your DSB to f4 in queen's pawn openings (unless you're playing a London system, obviously) because it encourages Black to hit it with e5.

I think the OP might have made a mistake and ment to say Bc4 and Bf4.

The dream position of chess.

Its techinically impossible to do though becuase people stop it. Yet many still try to achieve it.
Its the ideal position the Chess Basic Princples trys to achieve.

The whole purpose of priniciples is so that you can apply them in different positions and in most positions this setup would not be ideal.

Below text addresses your statement in red.

The position I showed is considered the Dream Chess Position (Ideal set up) which is applied to all positions in chess.

Below text addresses your statement in green.

Chess Princples is based around the idea of developing pieces to the center. Which is exactly what the dream position does. The Dream Chess Position (Ideal Set up) is the blue print to what Chess Princples follow.

Chess Princples seek to develops all the pieces to hit the center. An the Dream Chess Position does exactly that. If you was to develop all your pieces to hit the center that would be the resulting position lol the Dream Chess Position.

The reason this set up might not be considered Ideal in some positions is because of the discrepancies between the Ideal set up(Chess Princples) and the Opening Theory of the line in question.

Which is why Chess Princples is known as guidelines and not concrete substitutions to actual Opening Theory Knowledge.
