Same as me, but it is new reguardless.
Novelty in the Friend Liver Attack?
Its not a novelty, I have seen this line many times.. for the fried liver, the only way to defense at first place is to dont take pawn but play Na5, attaking the bishop.

5...Na5 isn't the only way to play the Two Knights Defense. Sure, it's the most common variation, but the Ulvestad (5...b5) and Fritz (5...Nd4) are also very playable.
I had played against Nd4,, still losing positon... about b5,, looks nice.. but if you really want a strong defense, go for Na5.
Disappointed in this thread - from the title "Friend Liver Attack", I thought it was either going to be about the various possible reactions of your friend when you offer him a bottle of vodka, or something about kick boxing ...
I can't wait to read IM Phren's comments.
Especially when you write his name that way ;)
I think your opponent found the fegatello a novelty. He seemed neither to expect it nor to know what to do with it.
(just for example)
If black could still castle then this isn't so bad. But here white should be very happy.
By the way, 6.d4 is supposed to be better.
"Friend Liver Attack" is the attack when you attack on a friend's liver directly :P
See post 10! ;)

LOL thats nice :D :D
Ah the Fried Liver Attack... I've thought of it sometimes, but you have to use it with purpose.
Like:
1. Material advantage
2. Control of the centre
3. Using the extra tempo to develop the rest of your pieces
4. Messing up their pawn structure
5. Shocking your opponent for that extra 20 seconds or so (especially in blitz)
As for the "Friend Liver"... What is that? An under-the-table blow to the gut? Giving your "friend" hepatitis? Beats me
I was playing recently in an online and live game and my opponent played from what I saw was an opening novelty!
