"Attacer always has an advantage." - Garry Kasparov
I really wondering which opening is the best for attackers. I think I'm tactical player who likes to attack.Usually I play 1.e4 (and the Ruy Lopez or Sicilian 3.Bb5), sometimes 1.Nf3.
As black I play Sicilian, Najdorf or Queen's Indian. Sometimes even different variations of Ruy Lopez.
What do you think? What do you recommend?
Thanks for answers!
There are my opening choices...
In my opinion, you don't have to change your opening repertoire.
kasparov Played the queens gambit to attack with. it kept more pieces on the board.
Queens indian is a bit wonky as an attacking player , the kings indian is more double edged
same with the Bb5 siclian. why not play open sicilians as an attacking player?
Yes, queens gambit, but what can I do if everyone always play 1...Nf6 against 1.d4 :(
Try the KG and EG (Evan's Gambit) as both start the tactics right from the start and both (mainly KG) focus on the weak f7 square.
Kings indian ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. ... Qf6 in your position
Benoni and Benko are quite fun!
here is what I am talking about
Gavinator I used the moves you sugested. sorry you are flat out wrong.
but here is an analysis of it. after that I am done.
There is no point arguing against The_Gavinator here. When it comes to openings, he likes what even Philidor didn't like 300 years ago. He just likes those openings that others don't consider or at least consider as not worth doing.
Also, if someone is trying to refute Qh5 because of some opening theory principle as "too early queen development is wrong", Qf6 can not be a very good answer to Qh5, am I wrong?
What is wrong with this guy? Ok, let me refute the Ruy Lopez, jetfighter style:
you must be kidding :D
oh ... after havin read all the comments i finally understand whats your point :D have you heard of scandinavian jetfighter variation?! :D
you got it bro :D
OK, please, stop with 2.Qh5?!
2...Nc6 and then if 3.Bc4 g6 4.Qf3 Nf6 and I'm OK.
Black has developed 2 knights, white just a bishop (& Q). :)
My .02 ...
The Scotch or The Scotch Gambit
satsuxa, how does it look like?
The_Gavinator, Bg7 & I'm safe, preparing for 6.O-O
Hmm, interesting. Are there any special "traps" or something? Can you please show me some variations? I would be very pleased ;)
