Have u checked the scotch gambit?
Haha! ;)Yes, Scotch gambit was already mentioned.
So I see this is 5 months later and you're still around, MSC. What repertoire did you finally settle on? Or are you still in flux after 5 months?
Some "Gruenfeld, exchange" or "Ruy Lopez, mostly Zaitsev with Nb1-d2-f1-g3 and pointing to black's king side". :)
Haha, I know it ;)
How about this attacking move in the Ruy Lopez as black
one way to play the scotch gambit without having to prepare for the petroff is via 1.e4 e5 2.d4 ed4 3.Nf3 Nc6 4.Bc4
Play mainline queen's gambit (I mean most popular lines nowadays) as white. As black any sicilian will work and KID. Good luck. Btw if you have chessbase I would look for the games from olympiads from 1940-1960. Good stuff.
OK, so QG and Sicilian & Olympiad, thanks I will check!
can some1 please teach me a thing or 2
I don't think you should use others forum topic for this (it would be better if you started a forum topic of your own). Anyway since you ask I can give some advices
Some interesting topics to make progress for beginners
Also IMsilman is currently writing a set of articles about beginner mating patterns (Part1,Part2, Part3). For those that haven't done it already I would recommend to go to alert & e-mail settings and add Silman to tracked members. Then his new articles can be seen at the homepage at the tracked activity (to see new parts about beginner mating patterns).
Also you could join the group Dan Heisman Learning Center which is a good group to ask for advices on how to get better.
If you want opening choices for a tactical attacker check Kasparov's and Tal's games. They are the best at this!
Agree. Some of the are just perfect!
