Hi Chess Fans,

Anyone will tell you I love blitz chess.  It is a quick and easy way to practice your tactical skills in a pressured format.  But there is one thing I don't like about Blitz.  Most opponents always use the same opening over and over again.  1...e5 against 1.e4, 1...d5 against 1.d4, the usual.  Because of the short time constraints, rarely do players try main line openings to use.  But when you start playing in tournaments, that's all you'll see.  So it is not good for everything.  Here is a list of all the openings that I have never seen in blitz

French

Grunfeld

Alekhine

English

Nimzo-Larsen

And many more...

I have used every single one of those except for Nimzo-Larsen more than once in blitz,otb and online FICS lol i also use the Caro Kann

I disagree, I think that the English and French are seen quite a lot in Blitz... as for other openings...

i use the sicilian -dragon in blitz
