Hello, does anyone play this? I am looking for someone who will play it against me as there is something I need to test the moves are 1.e4 e5 2.Qh5, your rating must be around mine too 1400-1700.

You can set up an open seek or challenge with the starting position of "C20: King Pawn Game: Wayward Queen Attack" in Show more Advanced options.

No, I am already in a game with podge here. No more Parham attack, I will be back to playing the Scandinavian. I only wanted to test Bd6 after Qh5 I belive Bd6 is the best move.

Have played this opening before myself, turned into a tuff game which left a lot to be desired (due to the rule "never deploy Qs early) but it can be played JUST lol...will give you a game with it but unrated ok, sort of as a training game...Jacky

Hmm...I never heard of this.  I guess because I don't play Scandinavian ever.

Actually the line is e4 e5 2.Qh5. I said I am going back to playing the Scandinavian defence because I have tested the Bd6 as a defence, you just got confused there no worry.

Some people still play Qh5 after c5, but it's not a good move much is Nf3.

I sometimes play this move (2. Qh5), and the continuation I hate the most is 2. ... Nc6.

2..Nf6 is best. (and white's position is nearly lost)

Looks about even. Perhaps black has a a slight edge with his nice pawn centre that cramps white a little. Nd1 was a pretty strange move.

Well I wanted a Knight on the kingside and the kingside knight I didn't want to move because it might be needed on e2 if black plays his knight to c6 or developed if black trades Q's. After c6 the Knight was likely to be out of the game for a while so I thought I would try to get it to a more active spot.

I was aiming for d1. e3. g4

I think I achieved a reasonable position with 2.Bd6!?. The thing is on move 6 I had to make a desision where I wanted to reposition Bishop either c7 or e7 I thought e7 kept it in the game more.

Well, 2. ... Bd6?! is dubious move, why would you want to block your d pawn?

And after that you are playing g6 and by doing so you weaken dark squares on a kingside, and there is no fianchettoed bishop on g7.

I looked at 365chess.com explorer and there is no single game with 2. ... Bd6.

My suggestion is this defence, black is better after only couple of moves:

After that you will play (in some order) 0-0, d6, and later on you can go with Bg4, maybe Nd4 ...

I can tell you the people who plays Parham on live, after couple of moves starts to take more and more time to think and you as black have developed pieces and plan, and they have nothing.

Please note that this is not refutation of Parham attack altogether, but this is refutation to those fast attackers that go with Qh5 hoping to take your rook in a couple of moves, or to mate you with scholars mate. Wink
