I understand that one will not face this opening very often (or ever) in tournament play. This is just an exercise in thinking through options. After 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d6, what sort of setup would you prefer? Please also give your reasoning.
1. Big center with c4.
2. Big center with f4. (Several possibilities here; in the sample we get a sort of French setup. Is the extra tempo useful?)
3. Two knights w/ Bg5
4. Two knights w/ Bd3
Play some blitz and you will find out.
