Story of my chess life--a very large number of games I did very well both in ICCF Correspondence [about 20] and in USCF over the board [8 straight wins out of 8] all games "not counted" for one reason or another bringing down my USCF to 2188 and my ICCF Correspondence to 2528 with no titles anywhere in sight.

David, the ICCF doesn't award titles for national championships no matter how well you perform in them. Like FIDE, ICCF only awards titles in international tournaments where you have at least two other countries participating I believe.
This is why interest in national championships is starting to wane with the higher rated players. Since you can't earn titles, it becomes less enticing to enter them. I was thinking the format should be switched to an international open event, where it would serve the dual purpose of crowning the highest performing USA player, and then of course crowning the overall highest performing player as the open champion. Then titles would be back on the table, and ICCF members from around the world would flock to play in it.

What is good line after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.c3 Nf6 4.d4 Nxe4 5.d5 Nb8 6.Nxe5 Bd6. It looks strange to place the bishop in front of the d pawn but there is the threat to the Knight on e5. Would appreciate a line for white that leads to advantage.
You pretty much have to play 7.Nc4 Bc5 8.Be3.

I agree with Firebrand and would like to add that White has a good position there.
It is one of the many Ponziani positions where White has a slight lead in development and slightly more space and a good player will take advantage of both "slights"
