Dont play the english will post my extensive black reptoire later as my white one is more based on reacting to the openents choice!
As an extra note what do people think of a sharp lines after 1 d4 tournement because you can set 1d4 as a game start position!
White - d4
Black - answer d4 or e4 with e6, f4 with Fromm's Gambit and others ad hoc, depending on my mood at the time.
White: QDG exchange; KID Saemisch; Gruenfeld Spassky system; Ne5 vs the Slav; Botvinnik Semi-Slav. Just bumble along (generally unsuccessfuly) against the Modern Benoni and with a bit more luck vs the Benko and other Benoni systems.
Black e4: Caro Kann Capablanca variation.
Black d4: Main line Slav.
White: Scotch when I can
Back: Pirc or Modern Defence
as white I like e4..e5 ruy lopez exchange variation
If I play d4. ..d5 the I'll play the Queens gambit
when Black I like e4 c5 sicillian the Dragon I think? or classical? too many damn sicillians
If d4 then I play Kings Indian defence ...g6 ...Nf6 . ...Bg7 etc.
I like both e4 and d4, but I like d4 more.
As Black I play the Rubinstein French Queens Fianchetto Variation against 1. e4
Against d4, I play the QGA
always c4 unless playing a teaching game then its e4
as black then
e4 e5
d4 Nf6
c4 c5
Almost always e4 with Ruy Lopez. Still early in my chess understanding, so I don't know the variations, but I usually start with some form of this opening
With black, I block pawn e4 with e5, usually trying to get knights out in defence of center and open lines for bishops
White 1. e4: Prefer Scotch, Italian, closed sicilian
Black 1. e4: Always e5 and prefer the Italian, Guiccio Piano or something like that
Black 1. d4: Slav defense
Black 1. c4: Tries with 1. ... c6 to steer it into a slav defense or some kind of Caro-kann
White: 1 e4

1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nd2

1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4
1. e4 d6 2. d4 Nf6 3. Nc3 g6 4. Nf3 Bg7 5. Be2 O-O 6. O-O
