nf3!

There are a lot of good moves.  Pick one you like and get experience with it.

The best and most common reply is nf3.

I like c3. It is a great anti-sicilian and it gets away from the main lines quickly.

2. Nf3 or c3.

Better yet, what's the best (or a good) move...and why?

Try to stay away from the names of the openings and instead focus on the idea behind the move.
