I wasn't sure how to play this opening, it is a combination of the slav/queen's gambit declined mixed with a gruenfeld.  What are white's plans and how should you continue?

These were my first few moves.  Should white be preparing e4 here or just continue on the queenside?

The schlecter slav isn't very tricky for white. Perhaps the biggest trick you need to know is just how not tricky it is, so that you don't rush in and attack a solid position too hastily.
